Excluded

Excluded is a documentary style, photographic body of work, which explores youth in pre-Brexit Britain. The series features portraits of individuals who were too young to vote in the 2016 referendum, but have since come of voting age. The portraits are coupled with a large scale seascape, depicting the English Chanel. This seascape is representative of both Britain’s physical separation from the European continent and the intergenerational boundaries that have been key to the Brexit lexicon.

Excluded has been created in a time of political turmoil, in an attempt to highlight those who will be most affected by the decision to leave the EU, but have not yet had an opportunity to vote.
